I'm now part ep 15 on The Ingenious One and went to the theater to see Fast X.
How was that? It looks preposterous, which is to say really good for that franchise.
It was.............on brand. :D I enjoyed it!!!!!!!!! There's actually a line in it about them pulling off crazy gravity and frankly physics defying stunts. Mamoa plays one of THE best scenery chewing bad guys I've seen in a long time. He really went for it and kudos to his costumer.

I'm gonna drop one little spoiler....................

I ended up watching some stuff set in Baltimore, MD.

The Company You Keep (2023)

Unfortunately, this show is already canceled. A Baltimore con man falls in love with an undercover CIA agent with neither knowing that they are both up against the same crimelord. The premise sounds a bit corny but they sell it well. There's a bit of Leverage and a bit of Alias in the mix. They definitely nailed the feeling of Baltimore in the bar the con man and his family work out of.

Unstoppable aka Nine Lives (2004)

Wesley Snipes stars as an ex-black ops soldier with PTSD who gets injected with a drug that causes hallucinations and suggestibility. The movie feels a little like First Blood but way goofier and more fun. Kim Coates and Mark Sheppard play goons in this and steal every scene they're in. This is also set in Baltimore and the main plot is in even kicked off in one of Baltimore's many shitty diners.

Mansquito aka MosquitoMan (2005)

Scientists in Baltimore are trying to cure West Nile Virus when they accidentally mutate a prisoner into a giant mansquito. As goofy as you would expect but with some fun special effects.

I've finished ep 26 out of 36 of The Ingenious One. And I watched the Mysterious Case of the River - a highly ridiculous movie that was .......vaguely related to my Lost Tomb fandom in that it was about tomb raiding and starred 2 people of a couple of the shows.

I have finished The Ingenious One and watched the first 2 eps of Back From the Brink.

And I watched an entire Def Leppard concert, a couple more lectures and Red Notice for the 3rd time...still holds up reasonably well. Also a chopped up version of Iron Man for what had to be the 24th time.

Well - edited for commercial inserts. They took out that whole 5 minute scene of Tony in the humvee with the soldiers and most of the following attack. The car started moving then something blew up and Tony was on the ground looking at his blood soaked chest. I think they trimmed the surgery scene too. It was just Weird.

It was fine! Dad and I both enjoyed it. There were a couple of twists that we didn't see coming, and they got around his bad knees problem by having a chase scenes.... though the previous movies also had a bunch of chase scenes now that I think about it. I would definitely rec it if only for completeness sake.
