Active Rock

Post by scooter »

So apparently WIYY (as in, 98 Rock) now broadcasts a format called "Active Rock" - some odd combination of "classic rock" and current "album-oriented rock".

I mean, yes, they make these terms up, but I don't suppose they could be less obvious about it?

Along the same lines: here is the perfect example of the counter-millenial grouse...now it's classic songs that are "killing music".
:lame:
Somehow not considered during this gripe: people are downloading classic music because your music sucks and theirs doesn't, shmendrick!

Seriously, given the number of recent lawsuits and retroactive grants of writing credits to avoid them, it's pretty clear that current pop music doesn't really have much original to say. And unfortunately I don't see the next punk or rap on the horizon...
