Re: Whatcha Watchin?
Finished Scent of Time, finished Under the Skin - which was only 20 eps and am now on ep 8 of White Cat Legend. Also Dad and I recently watched the new Dune pt 1, Twister and the Hobbit - Battle of the Five Armies.
I have watched the first 3 eps of the Story of Kunning Palace but I'm unsure if I like any of the characters enough to continue...

Re: Whatcha Watchin?
Dad and I went to see Dune 2 at the theater. We've watched the first 3 eps of the new Shogun show.
I've watched through ep 26 of White Cat Legend and ep 1 of Battle Through the Heaven. I want to watch more but I'm disappointed that it doesn't pick up where Fight Breaks Sphere left off since that was a heck of a cliffy. It's like they are taking the back half of FBS and rejiggering the story. Also I don't remember the character's names and since they've recast everyone I'm hugely confused. I shall soldier on for a bit though.

I have finished ep 34 of 36 of White Cat Legend and ep 2 of Battle Through the Heavens. I also watched ep 1 of S.C.I. which is a police procedural which people rave about because of the BL-ness of it.
Dad and I watched Death on the Nile - the new one, and though ep 6 of Shogun.

Finished White Cat Legend. I'm on ep 16 of In Blossom and ep 6 of Eternal Brotherhood. I watched the first 3 eps of the Legend of Shen Li and up to ep 3 of S.C.I. - boy that's a show where you have to embrace the bad production quality.
Dadand I watch Everything Everywhere All At Once, and A Haunting in Venice and we've watched through ep 7 of Shogun

Yellow Submarine (1968)
I had never seen this before although I had seen a few screenshots and I have obviously heard most of the music. The only song that sounded remotely new to me was Hey Bulldog which was hastily written and recorded for the movie. I love the voice actors playing the Beatles and their strings of horrible puns. The art is really crazy but par for the course for the psychedelic period of The Beatles. This was a movie made as a contractual obligation but they hit it out of the park.
Forbidden Zone (1980)
Another movie based on a band. This one was created by Richard Elfman with support from the Mystic Knights of Oingo Boingo. It feels like Richard O'Brien and John Waters had a baby and taught it how to sing. The plot makes little sense and the visuals are crazy. The movie was shot in black and white and meticulously colored later by Richard himself. It also includes the now-famous Danny Elfman in a role as Satan who sings a song to the tune of Minnie the Moocher.

Re: Whatcha Watchin?
RIP Roger Corman. I decided to watch some of his movies that I had not seen yet. He made so many movies that there are still plenty out there to watch. He launched so many careers. He also threw so much crap at the wall that some of it stuck.
A Bucket of Blood (1959)
A lonely busboy who aspires to be an artist, become famous, and make tons of friends but that obsession gets out of hand.
I am used to Dick Miller being a character actor (first saw him in Gremlins). It is odd to see him as the lead.
The St. Valentine's Day Massacre (1967)
A movie covering the events leading up to the events of February 14, 1929. As each historical figure shows up on screen, the movie details how they eventually died. It also has a few flashbacks to Capone's consolidation of power in the Northside before Moran showed up. It is pretty accurate to the events in real life.
Deathstalker (1983)
A hero is tapped to defeat an evil wizard to allow a kingdom's king to reascend to the throne. Sword and sorcery, boobs and loincloths. This was done by an Argentinean studio which Corman saved by churning out such films. It is goofy and kind of charming but in no way a plus material.
