Here's some information on this, finally. I'll admit that I was a bit suspicious about this, given that it arrived on April the first. It does appear to be legit, however. Still looking for more info on this; in the meantime, here's an overview.

pretty wild this one. shame that it had to come to light on the weekend before April Fools, and a shame that the maintainer was manipulated for literal years up to this point

Kind of insane, though...there's a good chance that this was a state actor from the PRC. Reasons? Um... :dunno:
