Forum Promotion down?

Post by scooter »

Looks like forumpromotion.net is having a backend database issue. Haven't checked their Twitter feed yet, but they have been inaccessible for pretty much the last 24 hours or so, as of the time of this post.

ETA: The error is a 522.

The error has now changed to a 503. Presumably they're still banging away on the backend...

Their Twitter has been updated during the outage - with no mention of the fact that they're down. Not very professional. :nono:

Apparently, they acknowledged it on Twitter immediately before I posted this. Still no indication when they might be back up.

They are back, as of about midnight Eastern. Reason for outage is being given as a DDoS from Chinese IPs, which could possibly return a 522 though I would expect instead a 503, which it eventually resolved to. This might have been as a result of changing to a full backend rather than a VPS, which apparently happened during the resolution.

And it looks like they are now back to a 522 error. :wall:

Now their redirect from Cloudflare (likely implementing their blacklist) is redirecting incorrectly. These guys are having some serious issues, and I don't think it has entirely to do with DDoS attacks.

...until yesterday, when they hit the dust again. This time it's just the forums themselves, as they seem to be priming for a relaunch, though it's listed as just a "launch" on the page, giving the impression that the whole thing is brand new. Their Twitter gives no clues as to the issue. :nono:

They are back. They have done a redesign, which certainly looks nice...however, they seem to have taken a hit to their performance. There's a noticeable lag between selecting options and having them appear, which is a change in behavior.

And another 522, just now. :rage:

This site is becoming not-very-useful.
