London Sour

Post by scooter »

Since it came up: here is a tiki drink which does not feature rum and therefore would be safe for @kaymegan:

I'm not sure about the addition of simple syrup to a drink which already features orgeat; I think it may make it too sweet, particularly with the juices which are already part of it. Some experimentation may be necessary.

I was gong to say, it feels like it would be too sweet to label it a "sour"

Technically, a "sour" is anything with citrus juice and (usually) a sweetener added. Occasionally, an egg white is also added, for body. If you finish it with club soda instead, you've mixed a Collins.

And now, an addendum - what to substitute if you cannot deal with egg whites in your cocktail. (So again, this one is for @kaymegan.)
