Top 5 Romantic Wrestler Entrance Themes

Post by WolfofWords »

Since I have been thinking about entrance music today (thanks to Justin Whang), I thought maybe I'd present the top 5 most romantic wrestling entrance themes.

The Romantic Touch - "Magic Guitar Man"

At a time when Rhett Titus had fallen afoul of ROH management, he put on a mask and a fake accent and claimed to be the world's greatest lover. He fooled everybody but ROH management who did not fire him right away.

Jeff Jarrett - "With My Baby Tonight"

Jeff Jarrett first came on the scene of WWF as a country music singer who wanted to use pro-wrestling to boost his singing career. That makes so much sense that WCW stole it for 3 Count later. However, Jarrett did not actually sing his own theme song and was proven to be lip-syncing over "Road Dogg" Jesse James' singing instead.

Matt and Maria Kanellis - "True Love"

This was hugely popular when Matt and Maria were first signed to the WWE from the indies. This was a total troll song that the Internet ate up with a spoon because it was so smug and dramatic. Also, for the record, Kanellis is Maria's last name so they were implying that Matt was a villain for taking his wife's name. Very progressive.

3 Count - "Can't Get You Outta My Heart"

3 Count was billed in WCW as a boy band that was trying to get a record deal while also trying to win tag division and cruiserweight division gold. The three guys they got gave it their everything but none of them were trained dancers or singers. Still, they had a lot of good matches and all three went on to have great careers.

Shawn Michaels - "Sexy Boy"

I like the version sung by Shawn about himself better but it is decidedly less romantic than hearing the Sensational Sherri screeching about him.

Special Mention: Piledriver

Only technically an entrance, it comes from the batshit insane WWF album of the same name where pro-wrestlers sang. Koko B. Ware is not horrible here which is probably why it's the title track.

Given that wrestlers can act, I'd imagine that some of them can also sing. :dunno:

Oh they absolutely can. The above examples are bad or sappy on purpose. The below examples give a taste of some better performances.
