The Most Evil Wrestlers

Post by scooter »

It's a long video, but...

In a different and more recent video, the producer here, Savox, played a shout-out he'd gotten on this from none other than Insane Clown Posse themselves, who praised the work on this video.

An uncomfortable video to watch as a fan but an important one. These people deserve to be called out as they were protected by kayfabe. I had heard some of this but this was really well-researched. It reminds me of the hit Vice show Darkside of the Ring which goes a bit more in-depth.

Murdoch is a known racist and drunk. I always loved that story of Rocky Johnson knocking him the eff out. Some of these stories were new to me.

Borga isn't the only person in wrestling that has racist tattoos. The Harris brothers are well known, for example.

Billington (The Dynamite Kid) was a bastard and proof that being talented does not exonerate you. He also dislocated Mick Foley's jaw during Mick's first televised match almost ending Foley's career before it began. He died bitter and angry. Chris Benoit took his flying headbutt move and also suffered from horrible spinal damage and concussions.

The fact that Hardbody Harrison was wrestling on an Evangelical Christian show is not lost on me.

Grizzly was a bastard and his story makes me physically ill every time I hear it. Jake's story is a tough one but one that ended with redemption and escape from rock bottom.

I had never heard that Jimmy Saville wrestled but what a monster.

Snuka is a murderer and WWE helped cover it up.

Never heard of McGhee but he was in FCW before it was televised worldwide.

Also never heard of Whitton but I got shivers.

Barraza is a shocking story. An actual serial killer. My Favorite Murder covered her which is actually where I first heard the story.

Yep. And the guy who called it with Savile was Johnny Rotten. And the thing of it is, people knew it at the time, too.

Getting off on a tangent, here: it's why I just detest the whole "we've always done it like this" mentality. The whole thing where something comes up and it needs to be addressed and no one will do it - not for any reason, but just because there's this idea that it has to be a certain "time" before something will happen. It wasn't as if Savile wasn't monstrous at the time.

Another tangent: Lydon is just amazing. Somebody at some point was incredulous that Lydon was a huge fan of Trump...to which I replied that if that surprises you, you weren't really ever paying attention to him. What was the whole Sex Pistols ethic? Get pissed; destroy...it was right there in the lyrics. Who was going to be best at doing that?

It's funny, because he's one of the very few Trump people I give a pass to, and the reasons are, he's honest, he's consistent, and he doesn't engage in bullshit.

Yeah. There's too much of "We all knew but none of us said anything except as a joke" going on still. That's how it was with Harvey Weinstein.

More recently, the Speaking Out movement swept through wrestling and got rid of a lot of creeps but they still remain. I mean, Vinnie Mac himself is currently being investigated for paying off women he had sex with a la Harvey and his friend The Donald.
