Attention, @WolfofWords and other fans: YouTuber Moist Cr1tikal is forming a new wrestling league, the Moist Wrestling League:



Fun? Not fun? ? Remains to be seen, obviously. The pilot is supposedly tonight at 8pm Eastern...

I just watched it. They started with just one match (plus shenanigans). It's exceedingly goofy which is not a bad thing. The first episode has Chainsaw vs. Dow Jones. The match is ruined by a run-in by Dow Jones' ex-tag partner Nasdaq. There wasn't a ton of athleticism but there could be more to see in the future. The match was refereed by the MWL Commissioner in a straw hat and Hawaiian shirt. There were some interesting camera angles since they were primarily handheld.

I know Moist has commentated the Creator Clash and he was the strongest of the three people at this commentator's table. If nothing else, it was obviously made by people who are pro-wrestling fans. It's not like there isn't a history of online personalities starting wrestling companies. WhatCulture created WCPW. Brian Zane of Wrestling with Wregret helped start POW! Pro-Wrestling. If nothing else, this will draw attention to some local talent and maybe get some of them booked more.

If I'm not mistaken, Moist is in Tampa...I think. Is there a robust local scene there? I gather that's where he's getting the talent.

Florida is where WWE developmental and AEW are based (Orlando and Jacksonville respectively). I'm not super familiar with the indies down there but I'm sure there are plenty. There are also a bunch of wrestling schools in Florida. I know Flatbacks is in the area which is run by Tyler Breeze and Shawn Spears.

I was looking at some of the reactions on Reddit and I think they nailed it. It's as if Adult Swim did a wrestling show.
